Mission Statement

Our goal is to become an integral part of the national ‘No Kill Movement’ and offer educational programs and to help make this dream a reality!

The number of dogs and cats that never made it out of our nation’s shelters exceeded over 1.5 million, and of that number 56% of dogs and 71% of cats that come into shelters are euthanized.  While that number has dropped somewhat in the past few years, it is still WAY too many! These animals don’t have anywhere to call home, and it may be because of medical or behavioral issues.

Our program will be designed to help shelters, as well as local communities in supporting their efforts to find the perfect and forever home for all these animals.

The old adage – “It takes a village” could never be truer. Help us help these animals! Check back regularly for updates on our site to see new and exciting updates on everything we’re up to, and how you can get involved.

About Us:
Established in 2006, Ribseys Refugees is registered as a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization. Founder Linda McCoy, a nationally-known expert in animal rescue, is dedicated to rescuing all breeds of dogs, but specializes in Pit Bulls and Black Labs, and their various mixes.

She chose these dogs because they are so often overlooked in the shelters, not only because of their breed, but also because of their color — these dogs are often the first to be sent to a shelter and the last to leave. Ribsey’s Refugees is a registered WA organization, now doing business in Arizona. We do not have a shelter facility, and are not able to physically take in any dogs at this time.
